At age16 l went to Chester Art College to study A Level Art and Design and, later completed the Art Foundation Course.
At the London College of Printing l studied for my degree in Graphic Design. Towards the end of the second year l realised my passion lay in illustration which l centred on in my final degree show.
Having gained a degree my first job was as an in-house illustrator for Mushroom Books, London.
After three years l left Mushroom Books to become a freelance illustrator working for Harper Collins, Dorling Kindersley, Octopus Books, Treehouse Books, Brimax Books and many others.
In this time l also opened a gifts and decorative arts shop on the Southbank, London where l sold my own work and that of other artists.
I am an Artist in Residence at hylands Stables Studios, Hylands Estate, Chelmsford - where l hold successful tutorials and workshops in illustration. After being accepted to eleven exhibitions and a prestigious public arts commission in the last twelve months my work is becoming extremely sought after.
I am happy to take commissions and my aim is to gather together a large body of work for my one woman show in 2011. |
